Vacuum Drying Cleaning Systems

This unit cleans thermo discs that tend to coin and stick together when covered with heat treating oils. Trichloroethylene is used to degrease the oil and when vacuum is applied, the solvent is flashed from the discs and recovered for reuse . The chamber, when opened has less than 25 PPM of TCE remaining in the unit. The TCE within the area of the lid has been measured to be less than 5 PPM, well within the OSHA requirement for worker exposure within the workplace.

This system uses rotation since it is a vapor degrease unit. We usually recommend soak with the VCN process and ultrasonics where appropriate to prevent damage however these parts are very sturdy and vapor cleaning was sufficient.

When parts can collect solvent in pockets, rotation systems are available. Rotating parts prior to drying drains solvent from the pockets to ensure complete vacuum drying. The system pictured has 4 separate rotation chambers for small lots.
